In an announcement, the agency mentioned it's alarmed concerning the substantial range of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of the Integrated Registration sassa status check Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office committed to service the area each day. The support position designed for intervention activities a high inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it hard to the office to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more resources to help the servicing of all shoppers and raise use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
